Gordon Sandstrom joined Vertical Detroit as General Manager in early 2019. Sandstrom has been in the restaurant industry for the last 24 years, most recently at London Chop House. “Gordon is a superb professional whose expertise in customer service and creating a memorable and magical atmosphere is what drew us to him,” founder Remy Lutfy explains.

“I’m eager to exceed our customers’ expectations,” commented Sandstrom. Born and raised in Detroit, he explains that “I’m excited to be part of this team and I want to take Vertical to the next level.”

Sandstrom’s favorite menu items are the Wolverine Lamb Strip (Toasted Orzo Risotto, Heirloom Carrot, Curried Honey, Pistachio Chèvre Crust), Thai Chili Lavender Braised Duck “Confit” (with Couscous, Haricots Verts, Crispy Skin) and, for dessert, the “Triple Layer Chocolate Ganache (White, Milk and Dark Chocolate Ganache with Orange Butter Sauce and Togarashi Tempura).

Sandstrom is the father of three and his hobbies include golfing and cooking at home.
