Detroit Free Press votes Vertical Detroit one of the best new Detroit restaurants.
Set on a quiet side street in the basement of a renovated vintage hotel, the Vertical Detroit wine bar, retail shop and restaurant feels like a semi-secret retreat in the middle of the city. The long, narrow space starts as a refined wine shop, merges into a casually intimate dining room and ends in a lively, comfortable bar. With more than 250 wines by the bottle, more than 50 by the glass and an outstanding service staff, Vertical will appeal to casual wine drinkers and oenophiles alike. You’d expect no less from creators James Lutfy and daughter Remy Lutfy, who also own Fine Wine Source in Livonia, but the surprise here is Vertical’s extensive menu.
