“The Lutfy Family first stumbled upon this wine while dining at PRESS Restaurant in The Napa Valley. They soon discovered that it was produced by Rory Williams, son of Julie Johnson, Winemaker at Tres Sabores. The Calder Wine Company is known for producing wine from grape varietals that usually go unnoticed. The 2012 Charbono is produced from 100% Bonardo giving it bright Gamay like qualities. It is medium bodied with notes of black cherry and plum on the palate. Food pairings for this wine include grilled lamb, beef or veal.

2017 LUCY
Rosé of Pinot Noir
Santa Lucia Highlands

TASTING NOTES FROM RÉMY LUTFY
Vertical Detroit – Owner & Wine Lover

“Jeff Pisoni from the renowned Pisoni Family has created something truly special in this wine. The Pisoni Family is excited about their commitment to give back with this wine by donating $1 from every bottle sold to breast cancer aid and research. This rosé produced entirely of estate grown pinot noir from the Santa Lucia Highlands. The wine is crisp and has great acid, with delightful notes of strawberry and cherry on the palate. Enjoy this rosé with lighter fare, a selection of cheese & charcuterie or on its own on a warm spring evening… if they ever arrive. The 2017 LUCY is the breath of spring that we are longing for.”

“This highly sought-after wine comes to us from Realm Cellars in the Napa Valley. It is a riveting blend of Bordeaux varietals, produced using fruit from Oakville and the Oak Knoll District of Napa, the 2015 vintage is deep in color with alluring floral aromatics that lead way to rich dark fruit on the palate. This is a BIG wine and it pairs perfectly with hearty red meats. It would also be the great served alongside Vertical’s lamb heart tartare or tomahawk steak.”

TASTING NOTES FROM KEVIN DUNBAR

“The Antinori Family is well known for their incredible Italian wines, and the 2014 Cervaro della Sala is no exception to that legacy. Produced from 90% Chardonnay & 10% Grechetto, this is one of the greatest white wines I have ever tasted. This wine gives your palate everything a well-made wine should, from oak to minerality to fruit. This wine is beautiful on its own but would also be perfect paired with anything from scallops to a charcuterie & cheese board.”

Female winemaker, Bérénice Lurton is known for her incredible wines being a true expression of the Sauternes – Barsac appellation. The 2013 vintage has honey like characteristics balanced with wonderful acidity. Traditionally paired with desserts, I also love to pair this wine with salty foods, think cheeses, nuts or even the Vertical Grind Burger topped with foie gras.”

Lucia 2015 Garys’ Vineyard Pinot Noir

Lucia
2015 Garys’ Vineyard Pinot Noir
Santa Lucia Highlands

TASTING NOTES FROM RÉMY LUTFY
Vertical Detroit – Owner & Wine Lover

“This wine is a newer project from the Pisoni family; well know farmers and winemakers from California’s Central Coast. The 2015 vintage is incredibly fruit forward with notes of ripe strawberry and rhubarb components. Deep in color, this pinot noir has hints of baking spice and clove. This wine pairs easily with an array of different foods. It would be the perfect partner for anything from lamb dishes to heartier fishes like salmon or tuna.” Cheers!

TASTING NOTES FROM LUCIA

“Deep cranberry in hue, the 2015 Garys’ Vineyard Pinot Noir invites with hints of rose, raspberry, baking spice and vanilla bean that slowly open to an exuberant minerality. A velvety, intensely-concentrated mouthfeel with undertones of cacao leads into smooth, elegant tannins. Texture is the hallmark of this vintage, whose freshness and energy, tempered with gentle structure, allows for approachability in its youthful stages. Though weather brought us a small fruit set that ripened early the reward was excellent character and depth.”
